To program your XFINITY the remote for controlling the Power/Volume/Mute/TV Input on your TV or Power/Volume/Mute on your Audio Video Receiver (AVR) / Soundbar, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Press and hold the "Setup" button (or "Xfinity" + "Mute" buttons for XR15) until the status LED changes from red to green.
Step 3: Press the "TV Power" or "All Power" button on the remote. If your device turns off, you have successfully programmed your remote. Turn your device back on and press the "VOL+/-" and "Mute" buttons to confirm they control the volume. If your device does not turn off or the volume controls do not work, repeat the steps above using the next code listed for your TV/Audio device manufacturer.
If you can't find a working code for your device, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Turn on your device.
Step 2: Press and hold the "Setup" button (or "A" + "D" buttons for XR15) until the status LED changes from red to green.
Step 3: To search for a TV code, enter 9 9 1 on the remote. To search for an audio device code, enter 9 9 2. The LED should flash green twice.
Step 4: Press the "CH ^" button repeatedly until your device turns off.
Step 5: After the device turns off, press "Setup" (or "OK" button for XR15). The LED should flash green twice. Press the "TV Power" or "All Power" button on the remote. If the device turns on, you have successfully programmed your remote.
Your Xfinity remote can be paired with Aim Anywhere devices, including select set-top boxes, allowing you to control your devices even when they are placed out of line-of-sight (up to 50 feet away).
Follow the steps below to pair your remote with the Aim Anywhere device:
Step 1: Press and hold the "Setup" button for 3 seconds, until the status LED changes from red to green.
Step 2: Press the "XFINITY" button on the remote. Your TV should display on-screen instructions to enter a 3-digit code. If the instructions do not appear, press the "XFINITY" button again - up to two more times.
Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the 3-digit code that appears.
Step 4: Once the code is correctly entered, your Xfinity Remote is paired with the device.
Once your remote control is paired with your set-top box, it will not control any other set-top box in your home unless you pair it with another device.
If you would like to use your remote to control multiple Xfinity set-top boxes simultaneously, you can remove Aim Anywhere pairing by following the steps below:
Step 1: Press and hold the "Setup" button on the remote until the status LED changes from red to green.
Step 2: Press "A" on the remote. If the status LED blinks green twice, you have successfully removed Aim Anywhere control. You can now use your remote to control other Comcast set-top boxes simultaneously.
