Have a different Philips remote? See our tutorials on programming Philips remotes that use brand codes, 4-digit codes and 5-digit codes.

Direct code entry

Step 1: Press and hold the "SETUP" button until the indicator light remains lit, then release.

Step 2: Press and release the desired device button (TV, STR, DVD, AUD, etc.). The indicator light flashes once (turns off then back on).

Step 3: Find and enter the 4 digit code. After a valid code entry, the indicator light turns off. For an invalid code, the indicator light flashes.

With your device to be controlled turned on, press several buttons to test if it responds. If your device responds properly, you have successfully programmed your remote. If not, try the next code for your brand or perform a code search.

Notes:

  • Some codes may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code that controls more functions, so test other codes too until you'll find one that has more functionality.
  • Any of the device buttons on the remote can be programmed to control any of your devices. For example, you can use the DVD device button on the remote to control a satellite receiver, digital converter box, streaming media player, etc.
  • For combination devices such as TV/DVD combos or TV/VCR combos, you may have to enter a code for each device.

Auto Code Search

Step 1: Turn on the device you wish to operate.

Step 2: Press and hold the "SETUP" button until the indicator light remains lit, then release.

Step 3: Press and release the desired device button (TV, STR, DVD, AUD, etc.). The indicator light flashes once (turns off then back on).

Step 4: With the remote pointed at the device, press and release the "POWER" button on the remote once. Wait patiently until the remote sends a batch of 10 codes to the device. The indicator light will blink once for each code and remain on after sending the 10 codes. Repeat this step again and again until your device turns off.

Step 5: When the device turns off, manually turn the device back on.

Step 6: With the remote pointed at the device, press and release the "VOL+" button until the device turns off. The remote will resend the last 10 codes one by one. Be sure to wait approximately 3 seconds after each "VOL+" button press to allow the device time to respond.

Step 7: When the device turns off, press and release the same device button you pressed in Step 3 to store the code.

Notes:

  • The "VOL–" button can be used to go backwards through each batch of 10 codes.
  • The indicator light will flash 2 times after testing the first or last code in each batch of 10.
  • Test the buttons on the remote to see if the device responds as you would expect. If not all buttons work as they should, repeat this process to search for a better code.
  • Repeat this process for each device you wish to control.
