AT&T U-verse Silver Series programming

U-verse Silver Series RC1534801/00 remote control

To use the U-verse TV remote control for your other devices, you will need to program one or more of the TV, DVD or AUX buttons at the top of the remote control. There are two ways to do this. If your device is listed in the code lists you can use the Direct Code Entry procedure. If your device is not listed, you will need to initiate a Code Search.

Direct code entry instructions

Use the following steps to program the TV, DVD or AUX mode keys:

Step 1: Press and hold the appropriate mode key you want to assign to your device ("TV", "DVD" or "AUX") on the remote control.

Step 2: While holding the mode key, press the "OK" key, then release both keys. All the mode keys should flash twice. You'll now have 10 seconds to enter the code.

Step 3: Enter the appropriate 4-digit set-up code for your device by pressing the number keys (0-9) on the remote control. If the mode key flashes 3 times, then a correct code has been entered. If the mode key gives a long flash, then an invalid code has been entered. If all the mode keys give a long flash, then the remote control has timed out.

Step 4: Point the remote control at the programmed device and press the "POWER" key once. The device should turn off. If it does not turn off, repeat the procedure trying each code for your brand until you find the correct one.

Now that your devices are programmed, you can press the appropriate mode key on the remote control to work with the selected device. To use the remote control for your U-verse TV Receiver again, press the "AT&T" mode key.

Notes:

If you are interrupted while you are programming, the remote control may timeout before you complete the code set-up and you will need to start over. This is indicated by a red flash of the mode keys.

The "AUX" button may be programmed to operate a VCR, Home Theater In A Box (HTIB), a Receiver or an Amplifier.

If you have an integrated or combination unit, such as a TV/DVD combo, each component of the unit needs to be programmed separately. In the code lists for these devices there will be codes for all components of the combination unit. They can be distinguished as follows:

  • TV codes start with a "1"
  • DVD codes start with a "2"
  • AUX codes start with a "3"

For some combination devices, the original remote control may be required to switch between the components.

Code Search

You can also search the remote control memory for your device code. Use this function if the code for your device is not listed in the code lists.

Step 1: Turn on the device you wish to control and point the remote control towards it.

Step 2: Press and hold the appropriate mode key you want to assign to this device ("TV", "DVD" or "AUX") on the remote control.

Step 3: While holding the mode key, press the "OK" key. Release both the mode key and the "OK" key. All the mode keys should flash twice. You'll now have 10 seconds to start the next step.

Step 4: Enter 922 by pressing the number keys on the remote control. The selected mode key will flash twice indicating correct entry.

Step 5: For TV or DVD modes press and release the PLAY key. For AUX searching only, press and release the PLAY key then press 1 for VCR, 2 for Receiver/Tuner, 3 for Amplifier or 4 for Home Theater In A Box (HTIB). The AUX mode keys will flash twice indicating correct entry.

Step 6: Press the "FF" button multiple times until the device turns off.

Step 7: Press the "ENTER" key (bottom right) to save the code on the remote control.

Step 8: Check to make sure the code works by pressing the mode key, then the "POWER" button, to turn the device back on. If this does not work, start again.

Now that your devices are programmed, you can press the appropriate mode key on the remote control to work with the selected device. To use the remote control for your AT&T U-verse TV Receiver again, press the "AT&T" mode key.

Notes:

If any other key is pressed except "PLAY", "ENTER", "POWER", "EXIT", "REW", "FF", or number keys 1 to 4, the selected mode key will give a long red flash and the remote control will return exit search mode.

If you are interrupted while you are programming, the remote control may time-out before you complete the code set-up and you will need to start over. This is indicated by a red flash of the mode keys.
